Editor in Chief, Journal of Oncology Navigation & Survivorship®Sharon Gentry is Editor in Chief, Journal of Oncology Navigation & Survivorship® and CONQUER: the journey informed™. She obtained her nursing bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Greensboro, respectively. In the past she has served as a program director for the AONN+ organization, guiding and directing the organization based on agreed-upon strategic plans, goals and objectives that the organization. She was active on the accredited certification for the Foundations of Learning, metrics development and acuity project. She continues to support the Local Navigation Networks actively serves on the Commission on Cancer Accreditation Committee and the Quality Improvement Committee as an AONN+ representative. Ms Gentry travels nationally, lecturing on the navigation concept and has published numerous articles and chapters on the subject. She is on the editorial board for The Oncology Nurse-APN/PA and works with the National Navigation Roundtable Workforce Development group. On the local level, she is an active member of the Piedmont Triad Local Navigation Network and Piedmont Triad Oncology Nursing Society.
Telehealth continues to be a valuable and convenient tool for healthcare providers and patients after the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the rise in virtual connections isn’t limited to healthcare consults.
Virtual meetings are now commonplace across a range of industries and organizations. AONN+, which now offers an array of virtual Local Navigator Networks (LNNs), is no exception.Recently, AONN+ scholarship recipient and conference attendee Meghan Lundvall, RN, BA, OCN, shared the ways in which her clinic has “changed dramatically since [attending] the 2021 AONN+ Annual Conference.” Her inspiring story is a testament to the worthwhile generosity of the AONN+ community.

Thank you to each member who participated in the regional meeting in Phoenix this spring. My favorite part of each conference is watching the interaction among the members. The term “navigation sponges” came to mind during the open microphone question sessions.
Thank you for the tremendous response to the call for how navigators interact around tumor boards. The information progressed from those who are developing their role around this function to the very experienced member.
