Local Navigator Networks

Mission: The mission of the New Jersey Local Navigator Network of AONN+ is to facilitate improved cancer outcomes and patients' quality of life by decreasing barriers to care while promoting best practices. This organization will enhance networking and collaboration with other navigators throughout New Jersey.

Vision: Our vision is to build an integrated network of navigators in New Jersey to promote advocacy, education, best practices, and evidence-based oncology care across the cancer care continuum.

Objectives:

  • Facilitate educational dinner meetings quarterly in the 4 regions across New Jersey: Northern NJ, North Central NJ, Central NJ, and Southern NJ regions.
  • These educational meetings will be offered virtually as well to accommodate busy schedules.
  • Promote the implementation of evidence-based health navigator and community health worker services within the cancer care continuum
  • There will be no local dues required for membership
  • At least 25% of members will be a member of National AONN+
  • Provide networking opportunities and communication within the network
  • Create a directory of Navigators within New Jersey to aid in information sharing and resources
  • Support members in advancing professional development and education
  • Encourage and support members to attend AONN+ conferences

Membership:

  • The New Jersey Local Navigator Network will hold a minimum of 4 meetings of the membership each year.
  • New Jersey Local Navigator Network of AONN+ membership is open to all those who are involved in patient navigation and survivorship, including nurses, social workers, nonclinical navigators, case managers, administrators, physicians, researchers, and others.
