Local Navigator Networks

Mission: The mission of the Florida Oncology Navigator Network (FONN) of AONN+ is to expand the role of oncology navigation by offering a local network for professional development throughout all regions in the state in Florida, where members can exchange ideas, knowledge, and experiences for the provision of quality patient-centered cancer care.

Vision: The vision of this network is to develop best practices for improving patient outcomes, decreasing barriers to care, and advancing oncology care coordination through leadership, engagement, advocacy, education, and community outreach.

Goals/Objectives:

  • Create connections and increase collaboration between local oncology navigation professionals across institutions and tumor sites by holding regularly scheduled meetings and facilitating networking opportunities for local members
  • Create best practices for identifying and removing barriers to quality cancer care
  • Promote the professional development and education of oncology navigators
  • Increase the number of certified navigators in the state of Florida
  • Collaborate with local organizations to provide educational support and resources that benefit patients, family members, caregivers, and the community at large
  • Increase awareness of the oncology navigation profession in the community
  • Hold quarterly meetings with educational opportunities as well as individual and evidence-based presentations
  • Send two (2) representatives to the AONN+ Annual conference
