Local Navigator Networks

Mission: The mission of the Middle Tennessee Local Navigator Network of AONN+ is to provide networking and educational opportunities for local oncology nurse navigators and other oncology patient navigators in the Middle Tennessee area, promoting and developing best practices in patient navigation, improving access to cancer care and improving quality of life for cancer survivors throughout their disease trajectory.

Vision: The vision of the Middle Tennessee Local Navigator Network is to build partnerships among local oncology nurse navigators and other oncology patient navigators, by sharing our knowledge, expertise, and resources to help meet the needs of the patients and survivors served locally.

Goals/Objectives:

  • Promote education and professional development of oncology nurse navigators and other oncology patient navigators in the Middle Tennessee area
  • To collaborate with community professionals, industries, and organizations for the advancement of navigation and the improvement of patient care
  • To stay current with advances in navigation
  • To share navigation tools and resources with fellow navigators
  • Provide AONN+ with updates from meetings on a quarterly basis

Membership:

  • Members will include nurses, social workers, lay navigators, and licensed medical professionals
  • The Middle Tennessee Local Navigator Network (MTLNN) chapter will meet quarterly (Feb, May, Aug, Nov) at 5:30pm (location TBD) and end by 7:30pm
  • The MTLNN chapter meeting is comprised of a networking opportunity, business meeting and educational presentation
  • No annual dues will be required for membership in the MTLNN chapter
  • MTLNN chapter will be led by 2 Co-Leaders or 1 Leader (1 year commitment)
  • MTLNN chapter will have 1 Scribe (1 year commitment) to take minutes at each meeting and submit to AONN+
