Sam,
For women with dense breast tissue who are considered a high-risk for breast cancer, mammogram and MRI is recommended yearly starting at age 30.
Risk factors putting them at high risk include: lifetime risk of breast cancer 20-25% or greater based on risk modeling, known BRCA1/BRCA2 gene mutation, first degree relative with BRCA1/BRCA2 gene mutation, radiation to chest prior to 30 yrs old, Have Li-Fraumeni syndrome, Cowden syndrome, or Bannayan-Riley-Ruvalcaba syndrome, or have first-degree relatives with one of these syndromes.
