The final day of the conference kept pace with the previous ones, examining a variety of topics most relevant to navigators. Representatives from the American Cancer Society’s Building Expertise, Advocacy, and Capacity for Oncology Navigation (BEACON) program shed light on their goal of bringing navigation to disadvantaged countries, and other sessions focused on resolving conflicts with colleagues, the importance of rehabilitation care for patients with cancer, and the dangers of vaping, among others. Bringing an end to yet another successful conference, the AONN+ Leadership Live session provided perspectives from leaders in the field before a fond farewell from AONN+ Program Director Sharon Gentry, RN, MSN, CBCN, CBEC, HON-ONN-CG.

Chock full of informative sessions, product theaters, and time to peruse the exhibit hall, Saturday also gave attendees the opportunity to choose from among 4 breakout sessions. One recognized winning poster presenters for their valuable work, while others explored the role of navigators in clinical trial accrual, especially among underrepresented populations; navigating cancer of unknown primary origin; and the complex world of value-based care and alternative payment models.
