Working in cancer care can be filled with highs and lows, especially for oncology nurse and patient navigators who stand by their patients from the very beginning to the very end. Nurse navigators and patient navigators witness and assist patients through their entire cancer journey, lifting some weight off their patients’ shoulders, eliminating barriers in care, and remaining a constant for them through treatment and survivorship. It can be emotionally and physically draining, but it can also be extremely rewarding – and no one understands these highs and lows more than your fellow cancer care professionals who are fighting the same fight.
