AONN+ has worked with the Cancer Support Community on a Cachexia Coalition to help gather information and develop a visual guide about cancer cachexia for healthcare providers. Specifically, the guide covers how people are impacted by cancer cachexia, how caregivers and healthcare professionals discuss it, how it is distinct and similar to related conditions, and how providers can help people with cancer cachexia navigate their care.

The guide is the result of an extensive literature review, the work of individual in-depth interviews with healthcare leaders, caregivers and patients, as well as focus group studies with patients and caregivers. In addition to the guide, Cancer Cachexia Voice of the Patient Report is a supplemental report that shares how people impacted by cancer cachexia have described their experiences to healthcare providers, researchers, and other key stakeholders.
