Please share a responsibility you have specific to your role as a clinical trial navigator?
 

Working with a non-profit navigation group, we have worked hard to create a reputation among our neuro-oncology advocacy partners as a go-to destination for clinical trial navigation support. Our neuro-oncology nurse navigators work with patients to understand their goals of care, educate about timepoints and considerations for clinical trials, then with informed consent will collect their medical records including pathology and next gen sequencing to search nationwide for clinical trials they are likely eligible for that meet the patient's goals for treatment/care.

Working for a large academic institution one of my roles is the early identification of possible candidates for clinical trials (not the full screening), and communication with the treatment teams about the "slot" availability in each trial. Liaison between the research teams and providers. 
I maintain a "quick access" list with the active trials organized by treatment line, general notes relevant to requirements for participation (i.e. how many visits, tests, etc.), and other important information (i.e. no cardiac issues, no chemo in the last 2 weeks).
