The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young AdultsMegan Solinger, MHS, MA, OPN-CG holds a Master's and a Maternal & Child Health certificate from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and a Master’s from the George Washington University. Prior to transitioning to the Oncology field, Megan worked in Higher Education Administration for nearly a decade. Megan’s dad was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in January 2015 and passed away in December 2015. Because Megan was his primary caregiver at the beginning of his cancer battle, she learned to advocate for her dad and family. Unfortunately she and her family struggled to find resources and support. This is what led Megan to transition to the oncology world. She became an AYA Oncology Patient Navigator through a partnership with the Ulman Foundation & University of Maryland Comprehensive Cancer Center, in addition to various management and leadership roles within the Foundation. She’s become a content expert in fertility preservation & AYA needs. She was recognized by Swim Across America/AVBCC/Amplity as an emerging leader for 40 Under 40 in Cancer. Currently she is working with the Alliance for Fertility Preservation as a Project Manager. Megan is also on the Emerging Leaders Board for a local, Orlando-based nonprofit, Runway to Hope, where she’s looking forward to fundraising and supporting pediatric cancer patients and their loved ones.
