Clinical Trial Education for the Navigator
Available for Credit: May 10, 2024 - May 10, 2025
Clinical trials help pave the way for new cancer treatments. The navigator role is increasingly being used in the clinical trials process, and navigators need to know about clinical trials to better educate their patients. This course will equip the navigator with knowledge of inclusion and exclusion criteria to enhance the assessment and application for identification of patients as well as understanding of clinical trial protocols, accrual, and retention best practices.
There is a history of a lack of diversity in clinical trials. Navigation can help encourage health equity in the clinical trial setting. This module will focus on reasons for distrust in healthcare systems by some minority groups, review social determinants of health (SDOH), and provide evidence-based tactics navigators can use for establishing patient trust and bridge the gap.
