This is the first in a three part series where Lillie will discuss her insights from being a participant member of the ongoing Commission on Cancer (CoC) meetings.

I am working hard to represent you as the Commission on Cancer (CoC) Fellow for AONN+. I serve on the Executive Steering and Accreditation committees.

For most hospitals and cancer facilities that run on a fiscal year that begins in July and ends the following June, this time of year—January through March—is called budget season.

When treatment ends, commonly cancer patients will be told by their treating oncologist, “Go find your new normal now” or “Start adjusting to your new normal.” Neither sounds very appealing.
As the end of one calendar year closes and a new one opens, it is common for people to make New Year’s resolutions. The majority focus on losing weight, eating a healthier diet, and exercise.
If you don’t track your performance in measurable ways, you are risking your job! Yes, that is correct.
