It’s a delight to see all the local navigator network (LNN) meeting reports and hear about the promotion of oncology navigation on the local level! For example, the Upstate South Carolina LNN has covered oncology programs literally from head to toe this year! Their programs featured glioblastoma treatment, metastatic non–small-cell lung cancer, previously treated advanced renal-cell carcinoma, refractory metastatic colorectal cancer, metastatic squamous-cell carcinoma of the head and neck, advanced urothelial carcinoma, B-cell lymphoma, and metastatic breast cancer.
When you read about an LNN program that your group may be interested in hosting, be sure to use the LNN leader contacts on the AONN+ website. There is information for nurses and patient navigators. The financial support as well as patient support from the pharmaceutical companies is comprehensive. This area is a treasure chest for oncology navigators who are looking for financial assistance as well as individualized educational resources a patient navigator can help patients and caregivers explore.
Look back at other programs that were shared in this column and start reaching out to LNN leaders for program contacts!
