Mission
The mission of the Technology and Innovation Committee is to identify member needs and provide education, tools, and best practice solutions to advance the use of diverse technology solutions that improve efficiency and value across unique practice settings, navigator roles, and patient populations.
2020 Highlights
- Recruitment of new committee members
- Solicited 2 additional co-chairs for the committee as part of a succession process
- Developed questions related to technology and innovation for the national membership survey
- Initiated a strategic approach for the committee and began survey data review
2021 Goals
- Advocate for the value of technology in metrics collection to demonstrate the delivery of enhanced patient experience, improvement in clinical outcomes and validate navigation program return on investment
- Outreach to AONN+ members to identify successes and challenge in utilizing technology to improve workflow tracking and metrics collection
- Collaborate with AONN National Leadership and Committees to integrate best practice examples of technology and innovative practices into educational content
- Develop and deliver educational initiatives that demonstrate the applicability of digital and virtual platforms across diverse navigator roles and practice settings
- Foster best practice sharing to showcase the how technology can assist in maximizing navigator efficiency and communication
- Engage AONN+ members, national navigation thought leaders and technology vendors to ensure national navigation standards and the role of the navigator is represented
