Barbara McHale is a retired Nurse Navigator from Hildegard Medicus Cancer Center and Samaritan Hospital Radiation Oncology, St. Peter’s Health Partners in Troy, NY. Having worked in the field of oncology since graduating from nursing school in 1977, she found her true calling as a Nurse Navigator, and continues to dedicate her time toward the development of the profession and implementing better cancer care.
Barbara has made numerous presentations and written many abstracts for AONN+, Institute for Healthcare Improvement, and various other groups. She is a member of the AONN+ Standardization Metrics Subcommittee.
She started the Upstate New York AONN+ Local Navigator Network in 2016, and recently stepped down as its leader following her retirement. She remains involved in the Evidence into Practice Committee and the Assistance for Quality Improvement and Research (AQUIRE) Subcommittee.
